PH.D. STUDIES - ANTHROPOLOGY AND SOCIAL CHANGE
Focus on activist scholarship, militant research, and social justice. A unique approach to ethnographic research which dissolves traditional barriers between research and political activism, insiders and outsiders, and researchers and protagonists. Co-research explores existing alternatives and possibilities for social change.
NON-PROFIT FUND DEVELOPMENT
For more than a decade I have supported numerous non-profit organizations in a number of roles focused on funding partner relations, grant seeking, writing, reporting, database management, major gift work, and operations. I have gained confidence as a writer, an administrator, leader, and an advocate for causes I believe in through my work in the non-profit sector.
LAW AND LEGAL ANALYSIS
Inspired by the Innocence Movement, I completed a graduate degree in law with a concentration in criminal law. During this time, I had the honor and the privilege to participate in a graduate internship with the Irish Innocence Project, supporting prisoners claiming factual innocence. I conducted statutory analysis and research culminating in the drafting of policy provisions focused on criminal legal reform in Ireland related to evidence retention, an experience that was instrumental to my decision to pursue a Ph.D.
TEACHING
From early experiences as an assistant teacher and student of Curative Education and Social Therapy at Camphill Special School to more recent experiences as a guest lecturing in colleges and universities, teaching has always been a passion of mine.
